Cancer Research Race UK for Life

This year Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life is going to be full of amazing moments for everyone. Whether you walk, jog or run the 5k course you can join thousands of women all round the country raising money to help beat cancer.

Due to the increased success, of the event, Sheffield hosts two races that start and finish at Don Valley Stadium and entrants follow a route on the surrounding roads.

Its the 14th year of the Sheffield Race for Life, and we’re looking forward to exceeding last year’s record breaking number of women of 11546. Just 454 more women would see us reach the limit of 6000 for each race.

The first race starts at 10.30am and the second at 2.30pm. If both races are filled, it will mean 12,000 people will be doing something for women's cancer charities in Sheffield alone. Last year, the racers raised the staggering sum of £548,100.

It costs £12.99 per person to enter, but spectators can watch free of charge. To enter online, you need a credit/debit card and an email address. If you don't have both, please ring the Hotline number to enter. Hotline number: 0871 641 1111.

Now you have no excuse for not entering, but of course, if you don't manage to make it to the start line, spectators are always welcome – bring plenty of change to put in the collecting buckets.
