Skills Yorkshire and the Humber

8th October 2008 to 9th October 2008

Sheffield Arena

Start Time: 9:30am

Skills Yorkshire and the Humber forms part of a successful national series of regional skills events and aims to raise awareness among young people in the region of the many and varied career options available to them.

Skills Yorkshire and the Humber will help to create an awareness of what the region actually has to offer and will encourage the young to stay and contribute to the local economy.

The event will engage young people with hands on demonstrations and activities that highlight every type of career from engineering and manufacturing to fitness and hospitality through to a host of other industries that a young person may have never known existed or considered.

Exhibitors will range from regional and national employers to colleges, universities, training providers and other professional organisations.

Schools and colleges in the region are able to book groups of students to attend on any of the two days and apply for a travel bursary. The event will also have an evening opening for parents and carers on Wednesday 8 October. The event organisers are working closely with partners in the region to ensure that the event develops to suit the needs of the young people in the region.
