The Sheffield General Cemetery is the second oldest in the country with 9 listed buildings and monuments, including the Victorian Gatehouse, Anglican and Non-Conformist chapels. For the Heritage Open Days there will be access to the Gatehouse and Vaults, which are usually closed to the public.

Special activities for children and families will include "Tales From the Vault", the Sudden Death Tour, refreshments, bookstall and information from Sheffield General Cemetery Trust.
